Hapag-Lloyd Backs Guidance But Cautions on Industry Challenges
Hapag-Lloyd maintained recently upgraded guidance as it continues to benefit from strong demand and higher freight rates, but cautioned that very volatile freight rates and major geopolitical challenges mean the forecast is subject to uncertainty.
The German shipping company, the world's fifth-largest container line by capacity, last month raised guidance on strong demand for container transport and improved freight rates, despite higher costs from diverting vessels around the Cape of Good Hope to avoid the Red Sea.
